Pianist Megan Dufrat is currently studying under the tutelage of Dr. David Moroz at the Desautels Faculty of Music where she is the recipient of the Katherine May Quilliam Scholarship, an award reserved for a top undergraduate piano student. Megan has been the recipient of many honours, including the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg Scholarship, and the Holtby Scholarship from the MRMTA.

She has performed in master classes with Jon Kimura Parker, the Gryphon Trio, Alan Lefevre, and Robert Kortgaard and has been a featured performer at the Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival in St. John’s, NL; performing with string players from across North America.

This summer, Megan had the honour of representing Manitoba at the Canadian Federation of Music Teacher’s National Piano Competition in Vancouver, B.C. She also worked with Manitoba Underground Opera as a répétiteur for their productions of Cendrillon, and Alcina and was the music director and pianist for Three Little Birds production of Little Red’s Most Unusual Day; an opera for children.

Currently, Megan is the accompanist for the Women of Note Choirs, University of Manitoba Concert Choir, Manitoba Theatre for Young People Theatre School, and teaches piano and theory through the Division of Preparatory Studies at the University of Manitoba. Megan intends on pursuing graduate studies in Collaborative Piano.
