For over 30 years MRMTA has supported inner city music programs through its annual “Kids Helping Kids” Musicthon fundraiser with $216,181 donated to date. Musicthon 2021 is adapting to a new format which will culminate with student performances in a YouTube video premiere February 7th. The essence of Musicthon remains unchanged: students register, collect donation pledges and share a musical performance.

DONORS: If applicable, please include the name of student in whose name pledges are made along with their teacher in the space provided.

Musicthon funds support programs within inner city and lower income areas of Winnipeg, in daycare as well as child/caregiver drop-in settings. They are targeted at families who often do not have the funds to access early childhood music programs, particularly of this calibre.

Tiny Tunes music programs are run in seven daycares and currently reach approximately 200 children weekly. Programming was able to resume in June after the spring shutdown, with new safety measures implemented including smaller group sizes.

In the past we have also supported Little Miracles Music and Play a free weekly music program for children and their caregivers. It is currently waiting for restrictions to lift so they may open again.

All funds raised through Musicthon 2021 will be put toward active music programming for the 2021-2022 school year.
